Group Class Info

All classes are taught with body awareness and respect for individual ability. You’ll be encouraged to move within your comfort level while still being invited to explore, play, and grow. Technique, creativity, and mindful movement are woven together in a way that feels accessible and empowering.

Group classes are booked as a 10-week series.

Welcome to Spirit Movz, a space where movement, rhythm and energy come together to restore balance, joy and vitality in your body.  Whether you’re here to sweat , stretch, dance, breathe or explore the deeper layers of energetic healing with music.  Spirit Movz Class offers a pathway back to your most aligned self. Led by Michelle Mitchell a passionate and highly trained instructor with over 30 years of experience, each class is designed to help you move with confidence, expression and intention.  With culturally inspired music and rhythms.

Spirit MOVZ

Energy cultivation, flowing forms , grounding practices where nature and the organ systems of the body work together nourishing the body, calming the mind and allowing for personal self healing work to happen. Slow controlled Movements & Postures for strength/flexibility and resilience. Breathwork and Meditation all rolled into one! Just follow the instructor - no memorizing required yet it is powerful for the Brain function and all Organ systems. We are all vibrating energy and need to keep that energy strong for Health!

Qigong (Holden Certified)

Tao Yin Yoga (Holden Certified)

A gentle yet powerful practice combining deep stretching, fascia release, breathwork, and mindful movement.  Ideal for grounding, mobility, and restoring balanced in the body.

 Learn the fundamentals & beauty of partner dancing.  Latin, Ballroom, Social Dance Techniques. Perfect for beginners, couples, wedding dances, or anyone wanding to move in sync with another! Each session is 10 weeks focusing on two dances per session.

Dancercise to 80’s Mix Music

High energy, feel-good movement to iconic 80’s tracks.  A mix of strength & stretch with mini- Line dances to 80’s Music. A dance class made to get your heart pumping and your mood lifted- pure joy, pure sweat, pure retro magic.

Burlesque Fusion

A playful empowering dance experience that blends Jazz, Cabaret and Burlesque attitude with modern movement.  That the Teacher provides a different prop to be used in routine work each session. Explore sensuality, confidence, musicality, and performance style in a fun, supportive environment.

Latin Groovz

A vibrant, rhythm-driven class mixing steps and styles from Salsa, Bachata, Cha Cha, Merengue, Samba, Rumba, Tango mini combos and step work fun!  No partner needed, just your groove!  Mini Latin Routines learned!

Learning rhythms and beats through your feet. Tap dance is a musical exploration of having drum sticks for feet. You’ll learn how the heal and toe footwork makes music with he songs we work with. Barre / chair work, centre and travelling footwork are learned, as well as a dance routine we build on weekly. This is for a beginner / experienced adult who may have not done tap dancing in years!

Group Classes FAQ

  • Prior experience is not needed. Dance and classes begin at a foundational level and gradually build week by week. Qigong and Tao Yin Yoga classes are beginner-friendly in every class, making it easy to join from the beginning or do drop-in’s when it’s convenient for you.

  • Qigong and Tao Yin Yoga are gentle, grounding practices focused on breath, awareness, and ease of movement. Dance classes are more energetic and movement-based, offering a higher level of physical engagement while still allowing participants to move at their own pace.

  • Yes. Michelle’s classes welcome a wide range of ages and bodies, including many participants over 60. Qigong and Tao Yin Yoga are taught with options and modifications to support different abilities and needs. Chairs are available for putting shoes on, meditation, or seated practice, and participants are always welcome to use a chair for exercises. Everyone is encouraged to move at their own pace, modify as necessary, and simply commit to the breath and movements in a way that feels safe, supportive, and empowering.

  • Classes generally begin with a gentle warm-up to awaken the body and breath, followed by the main practice focused on movement and energy. Each session concludes with a cool-down or rest period to integrate the experience and leave you feeling refreshed.

  • Yes. Michelle encourages participants to honour their bodies and offers modifications throughout class. If you have specific concerns, you are welcome to speak with her before or after class.

  • Qigong focuses on gentle, flowing movements combined with breath and intention to cultivate energy, grounding, and inner strength. Tao Yin Yoga emphasizes longer-held stretches, fascia release, and meditative movement supported by breathwork.

  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move and breathe freely.

    For Qigong and Tao Yin Yoga, layers are helpful and participants are encouraged to wear what feels most comfortable—many people prefer bare feet, soft shoes, or socks. You’re welcome to experiment and see what works best for you. You may wish to bring a yoga mat, water, and any personal props such as a cushion for extra comfort.

  • Full class sessions are booked through the website. Drop-in participants can either book through the website or email in advance to request a drop-in spot and bring cash to pay upon arrival.

    A full set of classes may be cancelled up to one week prior to the start date. Drop-in classes are non-refundable. If a class within a purchased series is missed, it is not eligible for a refund.

  • Both options are available. Classes can be booked as a full session or as a drop-in for $20 Cash only, space permitting.

  • Absolutely. Many participants enjoy combining different practices throughout the week, as each offers unique benefits while complementing the others.

  • Classes are held at the Tax Force Building in Sarnia - 230 Christina St, N, Sarnia (corner of Christina St and George St). Entrance is a glass door facing the parking lot, closest to the large glass windows Free parking is available in the parking lot.

  • If you arrive late, you are welcome to quietly join when it feels appropriate.
